Admin map and work list
An admin signs in and sees the season two ways: layout B, a work list of what needs an installer and every sign location grouped by zone, filtered by sign state; and layout A, a map of every sign location coloured by sign state with a legend. Both are program-scoped and admins only; everyone else is sent to sign in. Each row or dot opens that sign location's record (step 9).
Jamie chose layouts A and B from the TBR Admin View prototype (2026-10-13 PT, #45). B is the list the season is run from and is due Nov 1 (#61); A follows by first snow (#62).

Three ways to build it
Low not chosen
Django's built-in admin only: tables of sign locations and signs, no grouping, no map. Jamie alone reads it.
Medium committed
Layout B as prototyped, with the needs-an-installer table, the list by zone and the sign-state filter, plus the low-stock alert. Committed for Nov 1, because the season is run from this list.
High not chosen
Layout B plus layout A, the map coloured by sign state with a legend, each dot opening the record. Committed for first snow.
What the tests prove
- Admins onlyonly an admin opens these pages; everyone else is sent to sign in.
- Filterthe sign-state filter changes both lists.
- Once eachevery sign location appears once on the map, coloured by its sign state, with a legend.
- Alertthe low-stock alert, and any override at pickup, reaches this view.
Measurements
Counted on the wireframe; live numbers come from the usage compartment once the screen exists.
Decided
- Last check-in stays on the list for the trial, and can be removed after it (Jamie, 2026-10-22 PT, #61).
- Map background: the USGS topo map, free and needing nobody's permission, credited USGS (Jamie, 2026-10-22 PT, #62).
- Each sign has its own state, and the list filters signs, so a location shows under the state of each of its signs. A checkpoint's trailhead sign is bolted to it, so the two never differ (Jamie, 2026-10-22 PT, #61).
